- What counts as a parse credit?
- One full recipe parse (POST /api/v1/parse/ingredients or /parse/recipe) costs 1 credit. Step annotation alone (POST /api/v1/parse/steps) costs 0.5 credits. Product enrichment costs 1 credit per retailer. Cached responses are free.
- Do unused credits roll over?
- No. Credits reset on the first day of each calendar month. If you regularly hit your limit, upgrading your plan or contacting us about Enterprise is the right move.
- Is there a free trial on paid plans?
- Yes — Starter and Pro both include a 14-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
- Can I upgrade or downgrade mid-month?
- Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
- What happens if I exceed my credit limit?
- Requests that would exceed your monthly credit cap return a 429 with a clear error message. Your API key is not revoked — usage simply pauses until the next month (or you upgrade).
- Do you offer discounts for open-source or non-profits?
